Launched in 1995 as a Nextel phone and service provider, GNC soon became one of the largest Nextel dealers in the Midwest.  In 2002, under the Wireless Giant® brand, it became the industry leader in the development of the “multi-carrier” wireless retail model. GNC and Wireless Giant offered cellular telephone sales, service and accessories with national carriers including Verizon®, AT&T®, T-Mobile®, and Sprint®. Together GNC and Wireless Giant operated as many as 300 company owned, franchised and licensed retail locations across the United States. GNC was also widely recognized as an industry leader in training. In 2009, GNC and Wireless Giant stores began transforming into carrier-specific retail locations through Fast Wireless (Sprint®) and the Wireless Shop (Verizon®) affiliated business operations.
